The 2026 Australian Age Championships were held over eight days, 11-18th April, on the Gold Coast.
MLC AQUATIC finished 13th overall on the club point score, the top Victorian club in terms of the medal count and 2nd Victorian club on the point score. In addition, we were voted ‘Best Cheer Squad on Pool Deck’.
What an amazing week of racing! We are very proud of our swimmers efforts to qualify for nationals. It’s a huge accomplishment to dedicate yourself to a sport like swimming to achieve this level of performance.
Some stats:
*53% of swims were personal bests
*34% of swims were top 20 performances
*21 club records broken (Lucy Ma – 12, Fraser Blair – 6, Abbey Mescher – 2, Lev Dyshluik – 1)
*A record breaking medal haul by Lucy Ma – 7 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze.
