About Us
MLC Aquatic is a community based competitive swimming club based in Kew. The club promotes the development of swimmers of all genders, at every stage, from Learn to Swim at MLC Swim School through to State, National and International teams. We have excellent facilities and inclusive programs to provide swimmers of all abilities, with great opportunities.
We are very proud to be led by Head Coach Jayden Brian who is supported by Assistant Head and Performance Squad Coach Mel Klamt, Senior Competition, National Development and State Squads’ Coach Tim Wright and Development Coach William Drew. We also have a dedicated strength and conditioning team, plus have access to an outstanding high performance gym.
We pride ourselves on our positive club culture which is built around the values of Respect, Excellence, Resilience and Unity. We have a positive, team based learning environment across our club structure to assist our athletes in reaching their potential. The coaching staff prescribe a balanced training program based off world leading practices and are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to create growth and improvement in our athletes. With many of our athletes in full-time education, our coaches are committed to adjusting training needs to accommodate academic requirements.
In addition, MLC Aquatic supports a number of swimmers who train in High Performance Squads outside of our club squad structure. Elite athletes can train in designated high performance squads, both within Australia, and overseas, whilst still maintaining their competition rights to race for MLC Aquatic.
We are very proud to celebrate our club placing second in the overall season’s points tally at the 2024 Swimming Victoria Awards Night. Well done to every swimmer in our club who contributed to this achievement, as well as our parent group, and the tireless coaching team!
